How to Use Flagyl?

Interactions

A rare genetic disorder known as Cockayne syndrome, as metronidazole use may pose a risk for serious liver disease.
Experienced signs of liver disease during treatment, such as persistent nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, severe stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, or dark urine.
Consumed alcohol or products containing propylene glycol, as severe stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, and flushing may occur.
Experienced dizziness, especially when consuming alcohol, and avoid driving or operating machinery until confident of safety.
Received live bacterial vaccines, as metronidazole may impair their effectiveness.
Plans for pregnancy or if already pregnant, as this medication should only be used when prescribed by a doctor.
Plans for breastfeeding, as this medication is excreted in breast milk. The doctor may advise on the risks and benefits. If a single-dose treatment is given, the doctor may recommend stopping breastfeeding for a short period afterwards.
Storage
