What is Flavoxate?

Flavoxate is a medication used to relieve bladder and urinary tract symptoms. It belongs to a class of drugs called antimuscarinics and works as a muscle relaxant by relaxing smooth muscles.

How to Use Flavoxate

Flavoxate is available as a tablet and is typically taken three to four times a day. The usual dosage is two 100 mg tablets three or four times daily. The dosage can be reduced as symptoms improve. This medication is not recommended for infants and children under 12 years of age.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Use Flavoxate cautiously or avoid it entirely if you have:

  • Bleeding or blockage in your digestive tract (stomach or intestines)
  • Bladder obstruction
  • Inability to urinate

In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, use Flavoxate only if necessary, after consulting with your doctor.

Storage Instructions

  • Store Flavoxate at room temperature between 68ºF and 77ºF (20ºC and 25ºC).
  • Keep away from heat, air, and light to prevent damage.
