What is Temazepam?

Temazepam is a benzodiazepine medication used to treat anxiety and sleep issues ( insomnia). It affects brain chemicals that may be out of balance in people who have sleep disorders. By slowing down the central nervous system (brain), Temazepam induces drowsiness, allowing patients to fall asleep more easily. It is available in capsule form and is marketed under the brand name Restoril. Temazepam can be used in combination with other medications.

Temazepam Uses

Temazepam is primarily used to treat insomnia, helping patients fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up less frequently during the night. It belongs to a group of medications called benzodiazepines, which produce a calming effect by acting on the brain. This medication is typically used for short periods, such as 1 to 2 weeks. If insomnia persists, consult your doctor for further care.
